| Short name: | ModulFlex |
| Duration: | 2014 - 2017 |
| Funding: | BMWi / AiF (ZIM) |

| Keywords: | Embedded Systems, real-time, modular hardware abstraction, hot plug-and-play |
| Short description: | The main goal of the ModulFlex project is to develop a modular and flexible interface for embedded systems with hard real-time constraints. The target systems consist of both, a hardware and a software part. Using a ModulFlex system, the user is able to connect a variety of hardware actors and sensors to the real-time system and to communicate with them via a software interface (API). From an architectural point of view, the systems may be understood as a client-server pattern. The ModulFlex software is a development by the University of Osnabrück, while the hardware is developed by the project partner Trenz Electronic. |
